Ask the boy in So Dak if you can bum one in the Target
parking lot. A handrolled doesn't do enough. He tells you
the girls here are all hoes & they’re crazy. Was it Pierre
where a twister last scrambled the earth?
40,000 feet in the air, clouds expand & contort
but they’re headed east. Take the bridge in Chamberlain
west over the Missouri & you're in another new world.
The blue expands more than you thought possible, the hills
roll green & gold.
The air at the next stop tells you to get back in the car &
hope the South Dakota sky won’t hurt you too much–
