Cesario Tirado-Ortiz is a nuyorican, neurodivergent, nonbinary menace ready to deconstruct what it truly means to be a human being. Through their slightly unhinged eye, they anticipate a shift in the new age of theatre, and they hope to be at the forefront.

Matt Moment is a poet and performer studying at SUNY New Paltz, where he will graduate this spring. When not writing, he can be found waiting tables, online shopping for candles or listening to Joni Mitchell.

Olivia Biederman is an English major with a concentration in creative writing.

Julian is a current junior with a major in Sociology and a minor in Creative Writing. They love to use writing as a form of healing, being inspired by many events that have happened in their life.

Jade Roman is a junior at SUNY New Paltz who creates art through trauma and human experience. As painful as life can be, she creates beauty and colorful imagery to express the constant presence of love, and harrowing truths.

Michelle Nedboy is a junior studying English with a concentration in Creative Writing. She is a lover of realistic fiction and creative nonfiction, which is kind of funny in a paradoxical sense; in her free time she enjoys gaming, reading, exercising, and taking pictures of pretty things.

Shannon Giambanco is from Long Island, NY. She is currently a junior with a major in English and concentration in creative writing.

Kerri Kolensky is a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in creative writing. When she’s not writing, you can find her catching up on her always growing book list, trying out a new bread recipe, or analyzing the contestants from the latest season of The Bachelor.

Sami Davidson is a junior in the Early Childhood Education program who loves to bake cookies, spread love, see shows (when they exist), be in libraries, and play with her pets, Sherman Bunny and Oliver Spot.

Abby Carola is a senior BFA Graphic Design major with a minor in Creative Writing who admits that she has a significant coffee addiction.

Bonnie Simmons is a senior in the SUNY New Paltz Creative Writing program. She is honored to be in the Stonesthrow Review and hopes that this is the beginning to many more publications.

Amber Morrison is an English major at SUNY New Paltz, with a concentration in Creative Writing. She enjoys reading and writing YA fiction.

Isaac Murphy is a senior at SUNY New Paltz, majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing and minoring in Film and Video Studies. His work has been featured in the 2020 issue of Stonesthrow Review and on Reedsy.com. He predominantly writes horror-inspired fiction.

Zayne Simard-Moore is a English major concentrating in Creative Writing and he's been writing a variety of different styles and types of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, as well as a full 5-act play.

Ahshara Colon is a sophomore English major with a concentration in Creative Writing. She is double minoring in Spanish, and Film & Video Studies. One day, she hopes to work as an editor for a fashion magazine or write a screenplay. She loves listening to music, watching Taiwanese dramas, and writing in her free time.

Kate Gervey is a senior. She has been writing since she found out it was a thing people do. She likes birds and going outside when it’s stormy. Her career goals include retiring to a bog, where she will good-naturedly menace the nearby townsfolk.

Robyn Hager is a senior graduating this spring with a concentration in Creative Writing. Before the pandemic she enjoyed going to open mic events to read her poetry and taking long walks to fuel her creative inspiration. She hopes to publish and read her poetry more in the upcoming future.

Jada Burke is a senior at SUNY New Paltz, pursuing a major in Biology and a minor in creative writing. Her interest in life in different forms has transcended into her creativity, including her writing. Her hobbies are reading, watching movies, and exploring the world around her: physically and virtually. She has had kept numerous pets throughout her life, but her current love is her cat, Dahlia.

Emma Elisabeth is a senior creative writing major. She first fell in love with writing by attuning to the voice of the natural world and relating it to her emotional landscape. Her favorite subjects to ponder are cycles of time and the subtleties within relational dynamics.

Cassie is a junior Psychology major, as well as a Deaf Studies minor. She has a passion for writing, and a love for poetry. Hailey is a junior at SUNY New Paltz studying psychology. She has a passion for music but also has a love for reading and writing.

Orpheus is a Communications major from Millbrook, New York. He is a junior first-gen student who who likes to write as much as he likes to cook. "The Red Story" is his first published tale, and he dedicates it to those who empathize with the little grillo.

Michael S. Strano is studying Film at SUNY New Paltz, and he's been working on his writing ability.

Brina Novogrebelsky is a history major who loves reading, writing, and talking about Jewish things. She is from Brooklyn, NY and her favorite fermented food is kefir.

Jennifer Araneo is an English Adolescent Education major at New Paltz with a minor in Deaf Studies. She loves reading and writing, especially when she gets to write creatively, and she finds it to be an amazing hobby to explore life, emotions, and to understand oneself more.

Guinevere H.S. is interested in creating a body of work that merges and pushes the boundaries of text/poetry, experimental sound, art, video, and performance. She collaborates on art installations and has twice shown at Portal Art Fair in Manhattan ("Transmutations", 2013, with Jessica Beckwith; "Tremolo", 2014, Sheila Griffin.)

Sean Cosgro hails from Long Island and has been living vicariously through his writing for years. He's also forgotten how hard it is to write a bio since his musical theatre days.

Dylan Haughton is 21 years old and is a Junior majoring in English with a Creative Writing minor. Reading and writing have been lingering interests of his since he was young, but in recent years he has developed a strong passion for literary creative endeavors.

Mia Paquin is currently a sophomore majoring in English and Spanish. Outside of class, she enjoys reading, repeatedly watching Hamilton, and traveling, or at least she used to before the pandemic. Her favorite writer is Margaret Atwood. She is also an editor for campus magazine The Teller.

Robert Loustaunau is an Adolescent Ed. Major. In his free time he enjoys playing music, writing, and referring to himself in 3rd person.

Bella Mauro is a junior in the creative writing program at New Paltz. Inspired by Joy Harjo and Sylvia Plath, she enjoys spending time outside to write in a natural environment.

Alexander Schell is a Creative Writing Major from Brooklyn. He primarily writes short stories and strives to become a better poet.

Olivia Nyah Rose is from Orange County NY currently residing in New Paltz with her 3 roommates and cat, Josephine. She is a double major in Creative Writing and Ceramics.

Hailey Woodruff is a junior at SUNY New Paltz studying psychology. She has a passion for music but also has a love for reading and writing.

Following a 30-year academic hiatus, Mary-Fidelis (MFC) Feeley is excited to study English and Creative Writing at SUNY New Paltz. She wrote a series of ten stories inspired by the Bill of Rights for Ghost Parachute. Feeley's work appears in Best Micro-Fictions, SmokeLong, Jellyfish Review, and others.

Emma Philippas is a senior at SUNY New Paltz pursuing a Bachelor of Arts as well as Master of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing through the 4+1 program. Emma is a writer of prose, poetry, as well as the occasional song. She has been steadily working on a novel that she hopes to share with the world soon.

 Visual Artists

Deborah Corr is a second year graduate student at SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, New York obtaining her MFA in Photography and Related Media. Born and raised in Illinois, her recent photographic work discusses her shifting feelings and relationship to the meaning of home now that she has left her childhood home and is based in New York.

Symone Knox is a documentary and fine art photographer based out of both the Hudson Valley region of New York & the Greater Boston region of Massachusetts. Using book formats as a tool for visual storytelling, Symone’s fine art work centers primarily around memory, loss, and family trauma. Her documentary work, which deals with themes of Blackness, is heavily dictated by her understanding of history and her position as both an African American woman and a photographer.

Velianna Catalano is a photographer from Westchester, NY. She is currently a senior at the State University of New Paltz, where she is pursuing a BFA in Photography. Velianna uses photography as a tool to explore her curiosity in the mysterious and complex. Her work often reflects themes of identity, femininity, and spirituality that visually veil her underlying truths and traumatic experiences.

Emily Tyman is an artist currently completing her MFA at the State University of New York at New Paltz, concentrating in Painting and Drawing. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Rochester in 2018.

Shelby Nine is a Junior at SUNY New Paltz studying Graphic Design. She is from the East End of Long Island and now lives in the Hudson Valley - trading the ocean for mountains. She is deeply inspired by nature and people - both who she knows personality and who she has never met. Her art serves as a bridge to recognize and form relationships between ideas, emotions and reality. Shelby creates art as an outlet to improve connections between herself and the world around her.

Hailey Pierce was born in Portsmouth, VA in 1999 and raised in Arlington, TX and Orange County, NY. She currently resides in New Paltz, NY and attends SUNY New Paltz studying both Photography and Psychology. Her work is greatly influenced by the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud and Walter Benjamin who realized the optical unconscious; a relationship between repressed emotion and how that translates through photography. She realizes her trauma through making photographs.

Marisa Lucchese (b. 1999) is a Long Island based photographer currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from SUNY New Paltz. Her work explores making the invisible visible; this includes works about the lifelong battle with mental illness, familial relationships, aging, and loss.

Patty Boltman is a photographer based out of Poughkeepsie and Syracuse, New York. Her work highlights personal issues such as mental health and insomnia as well as venturing out to the land around her. For Patty, photography is a means of exploration, self-discovery, and reflection. She is currently majoring in Visual Arts at SUNY New Paltz.

Mikayla Millard is a documentary photographer based out of Poughkeepsie, New York. Her works centers around topics of introspection, family, and her faith. She is currently working towards completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography (BFA) at SUNY New Paltz.

Eric Afflerbach is a fine art photographer from Floral Park, NY. He is currently attending SUNY New Paltz, where he will graduate in 2022 with a BFA in Photography. Eric's work, often self-portraiture, explores themes of identity and the subconscious through surreal imagery that recalls the tropes and feelings of horror films.
